When you sign in with Google, we receive the following information from your Google account:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your profile picture

We also store information you create while using the platform:

• Events and experiences you have saved (favourites)
• Your Local or Tourist mode preference

3. Why we collect it

We use your information solely to provide the platform's features:

• To identify you when you sign in
• To save and display your favourite events and experiences
• To sync your preferences across devices
• To show personalised recommendations based on your saves

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the above.

4. How we store it

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We do not store your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Google OAuth — for sign-in
• Supabase — for database and authentication
• Vercel — for hosting and delivery

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and security practices. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

6. Your rights under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Object to the processing of your personal information

7. Cookies

We use a single cookie (qhwa_mode) to remember whether you selected Local or Tourist mode. This cookie does not track you across other websites and contains no personal information.

They Found Us is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
